Glen check (or Glenurquhart check) is one of the most common and versatile of all checks. Small checks alternate and overlap with large squares. The name comes from the valley of Glenurquhart in Scotland, where the checked wool was first used in the 19th century. The check was also popularized by Duke of Windsor and therefore is sometimes nicknamed as Prince of Wales check.
